Welcome to the Spring 2016 issue of Connections. This issue highlights details and photos from our 2016 Annual Conference held in Irvine, CA! We look forward to seeing you in 2017, when we will return to Orlando, Florida (February 9-11, 2017). Exciting news: AMTE's twitter account is now active (@AMTENews)! This year's Annual Conference had a record number of presenters and was an exciting opportunity for professional development for all.
During the 2016 conference, we celebrated our 20th conference with several activities.

The demand for statistics education presents some exciting challenges to educators of mathematics, and the American Statistical Association is working with math teachers across the country to give them professional development support, training and resources.

AMTE Position Statement on Technology
AMTE's position statement on technology is now available on the AMTE website . The AMTE Board sincerely appreciates the work of the Technology Committee for submitting the initial draft of the position statement.
Call for Proposals for the 2017 AMTE Annual Conference
The 2017 Call for Proposals is now available on the AMTE website . We hope you will consider submitting a proposal for next year's conference, to be held February 9-11, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. The online submission site at All-Academic will be available on or around April 1, 2016.
Deadline to submit a proposal : May 15, 2016 at 11:59 pm PDT
Connections is a quarterly online publication of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators. The newsletter offers a peer-reviewed opportunity for members to disseminate information to the mathematics teacher education community.
