Description of Duties
The Middle Math Studies Teacher creates and implements theme-based and project-based
units derived from the Michigan K-12 standards. The job requires the ability to deliver
differentiated instruction to multi-age/multi-grade classes; this might mean modifying curriculum
to accommodate students with specific needs. Middle school teachers also oversee a base
class made up of around 20 students. Building community and creating engaging activities with
them is essential and aligns with the school's beliefs of teaching to the whole-child and
developing rich relationships with students.
Requirements:
• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree as well as a Michigan Teaching Certificate or
be enrolled in an alternative certification program applicable to the assignment
• Demonstrate ability to support students with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and
learning styles.
