Are you interested in sharing your work with technology to a broad MTE audience? The AMTE Tech Talk Blog is a space for members to share success stories of technology integration so we can learn how different tools are being effectively used in our work with teachers and students.
Content of blog posts include: descriptions and uses of mathematical technologies, tools that allow teachers to communicate and reflect on their work, social media spaces where teachers and teacher educators discuss their work, and engaging technology-based activities that we have used with pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers.
Blog posts are authored by AMTE members and provide examples of the ways we are engaging students and teachers in using technology. A few recent examples include:
- Strategies for Using Google Slides to Facilitate Online Discussions - Nicholas Kochmanski uses Google Slides to allow students to move icons and writing to answer mathematical questions, thus facilitating whole-class discussions and reasoning.
- Tech Lessons Learned through COVID-19 - Maria Fernandez, Shemail Fatima, Elizabeth Forde, and Jina Park discuss how considering teacher efficacy can help MTEs identify technological assumptions and design effective learning experiences amidst a wide array of technology.
Please consider writing a brief AMTE Tech Talk Blog. Posts are typically around 500 words and are curated by the AMTE Technology Committee before being viewed by hundreds of MTEs in our organization. We’d love to hear your success stories!
