The STaR program supports early career mathematics educators. To date, 207 Fellows have completed the program and they represent 142 different institutions of higher education across 40 states.
This summer, 32 STaR Fellows (14 with appointments in mathematics departments and 18 in education departments/colleges), will participate in the 2016 STaR Institute in Park City, UT. They will be mentored by experienced mathematics educators with a focus on service, teaching, research (STaR), and networking with colleagues.
AMTE is the official home for STaR and its continuation is totally dependent on donations. About $60,000 is needed annually to sustain the STaR Program.
In the past year about 100 individuals, including many STaR Fellows, donated over $30,000 to support the program. In addition, professional organizations (NCTM, ASA SIG/RME, and AMTE Affiliates) and foundations (Brookhill) donated about $25,000 to support the STaR Program.
PLEASE consider giving to support the continuation of this important program. Information on how to donate is available at: https://www.amte.net/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=13
