Location
The Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture at Texas A&M University invite applications for one
tenure track position in mathematics education at the rank of Full Professor (tenure review upon hire) for the
Curtis D. Robert Endowed Mathematics Education Chair. Our goal is to build on the current program level
academic synergy surrounding Curriculum Studies in School Mathematics, International Education in
Mathematics Education, STEM Education, as well as Mathematics Teacher Preparation.
Position responsibilities include a) maintaining a vibrant funding and research agenda that has achieved or
will achieve national/international significance, b) teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and c)
enhancing and elevating mathematics education research and practice applied to the preparation of the next
generation of mathematics teachers, researchers and academic leaders. The Department of Teaching, Learning

Required Qualifications
• Earned doctorate with specialization in Mathematics Education or closely related field
• Publications in high-quality outlets
• Research agenda that is well-defined and focused
• External funding history or potential
• Eminence in, or strong trajectory for, Mathematics Education
• Evidence of leadership in Mathematics Education
• Completion of teacher certification through an accredited program
• Commitment to research-based pedagogical practices
• Minimum of two years full-time school teaching experience
• Experience teaching undergraduate mathematics teaching methods courses
• Understanding of current issues and trends impacting mathematics education
• Commitment to Texas A&M’s core values: Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect,
