The Wheelock College of Education & Human Development at Boston University invites applications for a full-time, tenured Associate Professor of Mathematics Education within our Teaching & Learning department. We strongly believe that the cultural and social diversity of faculty, staff, and students is important to maintaining superior research and academic programs and building strong community. As such, we are seeking a faculty member who shares BU Wheelock’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; the advancement of research; and the preparation of high quality mathematics educators.
BU Wheelock is seeking an individual who has an established research program and a history of obtaining external funding in mathematics education and related fields. We seek candidates whose work combine rigorous quantitative or mixed methods approaches with strong theoretical frameworks, and whose research influences the national dialogue on effective and inclusive mathematics education practices and/or policies. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide leadership on the research and training agenda of the program, as well as serve as a mentor for doctoral students and junior faculty in the broader Department/College. Faculty are also expected to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses, advise students, and provide service to the university and profession.
