The Tennessee STEM Education Center (TSEC) at Middle Tennessee State University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Director of the Tennessee STEM Education Center. Start date for the position may be as early as March 1, 2019. This is a 12-month, full-time (non-tenurable) appointment which will include an appointment in the appropriate academic department.
MTSU is seeking a candidate who will collaborate with stakeholders at local, regional and national levels to promote excellence in STEM education.
Duties include assisting the Director in the formulation of the Center’s long-range and strategic plans; contributing to grant writing, program and project management, and scholarly dissemination through refereed conferences and publications; teaching, mentoring undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate researchers; initiating, managing, and providing program oversight for K-16 STEMoutreach programs; and serving as a liaison for participating departments within the college and other university outreach support offices as related to STEMprograms.
The successful candidate will join a growing team of faculty, professional staff, and student researchers in identifying and addressing current issues in STEMeducation through outreach, service, teaching, and research.
