The Ph.D. in Mathematics and Science Education at Washington State University develops scholars capable of making important contributions to the research base, professional contexts, and learning environments related to mathematics and/or science education. Students choose an individualized path of study that targets math and/or science education, guided by faculty mentors. Courses in math/science education, research, and a selected cognate area frame the program.
The program is available at all four sites of the WSU system - Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver. All courses, advising, and weekly seminar occur over a state-wide teleconferencing system that supports a broad learning community.
