Fall 2021

In the Fall 2021 issue, AMTE’s President shares ways our community can find inspiration from perspectives in children’s books. Also included are articles focusing on reshaping assessment practices in a methods course, developing prospective teachers’ understandings of mathematics as a human endeavor, using local data to improve outcomes on licensure exams, and implementing a community-centered approach in methods courses. Information is provided on the upcoming AMTE Conference, so be sure to check out the approaching registration deadlines. You will also find updates from AMTE’s journals, Equity and Technology Committees, STaR program, and Affiliates, along with other important happenings.

Summer 2021

Our Summer 2021 issue includes a message from AMTE’s President about the importance of resting, reflecting, and growing as a mathematics teacher education community. Several interesting articles are featured that focus on: meaningful integration of mathematics with other STEM disciplines during teacher education, professional development emphasizing rehearsals for mathematics teacher leaders, and developing partnerships. The Equity Committee continues to share results from the equity-focused member survey, along with their recommendations. You will find information on the 2022 Annual Conference, STaR Program, and Tech Talk Blog. Also, be sure to check out the updates from the CITE-Math and Mathematics Teacher Educator journals, along with the highlights from the Board of Directors and Affiliates.

Spring 2021

The Spring 2021 issue includes an uplifting message from AMTE’s new President about the importance of deep listening and learning in community. It features an article from Connections’ special call that focuses on perspectives of those navigating a virtual field placement. Also shared are upcoming opportunities for leadership in AMTE, along with an interesting and insightful collection of articles and videos from current and past leaders describing their experiences and providing tips. You will find highlights from the recent AMTE Annual Conference as well as the Call for Proposals for the 2022 Annual Conference. This issue also provides updates from the CITE-Math and Mathematics Teacher Educator journals and from several Affiliates, along with information on how to join the Mathematics Teacher Education Partnership program.

Winter 2020

Our Winter 2020 issue features an inspiring final message from the President and an update from the Board sharing long-term goals for AMTE. You will find articles on equity, anti-racist practice, and a teacher learning cycle, along with a special collection of articles on field experiences during this challenging time of COVID-19. This issue provides important information on the upcoming Annual Conference, including session announcements on publishing in AMTE’s journals and the Karen King Advocacy Award. Also highlighted are the 2021 Award Recipients, the Teaching Math Teaching podcast, and research questions for us to consider related to the 2018 NSSM+ findings.
