Start preparing for the 29th Annual AMTE Conference that will be held in Reno, NV February 6-8, 2024.
The 29th Annual Conference will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino located in Reno, Nevada 1.5 miles from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. We are excited to gather with AMTE members for this annual event. AMTE Conference hotel room block is still available. You can make your reservation using the Grand Sierra booking link until the block is full or through January 13, 2025. Note that the hotel will charge $4.95 for reservations made by phone.
Information about the complimentary hotel shuttle from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (airport code RNO) is available on the hotel services website. Here are some things to keep in mind about coming to the high desert (5400 ft.):
-
- Hydrate with water a few days before and during your stay,
- Bring lip balm, chapstick, lotion for chapped lips and dry skin,
- Bring sunglasses for strong sunlight,
- Check weather before travel and pack appropriate clothing and shoes (warm coats & warm footwear in case of ice/snow), and
- Be aware that high altitude can impact breathing especially when working out.
Program information will be updated over the next few weeks and a draft program will be posted by early December. See the AMTE Conference website for the draft schedule. For the first time, AMTE is offering a one-day Saturday registration that includes lunch for K-12 educators.
