AMTE recognizes that this year’s conference location in Orlando, FL causes concern for some members. AMTE is committed to providing a safe space for conference attendees. As we have in the past, we will be providing gender-inclusive restrooms at the conference venue, providing a list of LGBTQIA+ friendly and BIPOC-owned businesses, hosting a reception and opportunities to network for BIPOC scholars, and providing an advocacy lunch that will provide a space for members to discuss current issues and ways to advocate for students, colleagues, and our profession. We have verified that the Orlando airport has companion care/unisex/family restrooms. Additionally, we will provide a way for attendees to report incidents at the conference and will follow up on all reports in a confidential way. We are also planning ways to support members who are unable to attend the conference. Our plans include providing recordings or streaming of plenary sessions, as well as a free way for AMTE members to asynchronously view individual session materials (e.g., short videos and handouts) and interact with speakers. Those on accepted sessions who cannot travel to the conference will still have their name included on the program to give them credit for their work, and we are exploring ways to allow them to participate in their session remotely. Additional information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
Make your hotel room reservations early while availability lasts! A block of rooms for AMTE attendees has been made available at the conference hotel, Rosen Centre. The hotel room rate is $199 per night for a room with single or double occupancy. To receive the conference rate, click on the Reservation Link. The reservation link is also available on the conference website. This rate will be available until Tuesday, January 16, 2024, or until the conference block is full. Please be aware that the conference room block may be sold out early. Once the room block is full, the hotel will accept reservations at the prevailing rate and only on a space-available basis.
We look forward to seeing you in Orlando in February!
