Affiliate News
The Affiliate Connections Committee has been working on setting their annual goals based on the information we received at the annual 2023 AMTE Conference. Your state affiliate may have already been contacted by their regional representative about our Goodwill Tour. The Goodwill Tour is an effort to reach out to state affiliates to see if they can be of service in some way or attend one of your meetings virtually. They will also be requesting some information for the resources we are putting together such as which affiliates have journals or newsletters they share with their members, what organizations do they partner with for various issues or events, and about conferences.
A few important reminders and information:
- 2024 Affiliate Dues: 2024 annual payment will be due on December 31, 2023 and will cover the fiscal year 2024. Payments received after this date will incur a $20 late fee. Dues may be paid directly through the form on the website or mailed to the AMTE Treasurer.
- Update your affiliate information on the AMTE website.
- The Active Affiliate Award (A3) of $80 will go toward affiliate dues.
If you have questions, please reach out to your regional representative or myself, Pam Bailey, prbailey@marybaldwin.edu.
Best of Wishes,
Pam
AMTE-NC (North Carolina)
The North Carolina affiliate spent time this academic year discussing, writing, and collaborating on science of math counterclaim documents. The 2-page documents overview the claims from the science of math group and offer research-based alternatives aligned with NCTM and AMTE's visions for mathematics instruction. They provide resources to extend the conversation about those claims. Please contact AMTE-NC President or Past-President for more information: Katie Baker, kbaker17@elon.edu or Cyndi Edgington, cpedging@ncsu.edu.
Managing your Affiliate Page in the AMTE Affiliates Directory
Is your affiliate’s page in the AMTE Affiliates Directory up to date? One representative from each affiliate can be granted access to edit that affiliate’s information in the online directory. Each affiliate page includes an overview section that can link to the affiliate website, a list of affiliate leaders, and a section for additional information. To find out more about managing your affiliate’s webpage, go to https://amte.net/affiliates/manage. The link to the AMTE Web Team provides an easy way to register or change your affiliate representative.
