In recognition of a need for greater collaboration between mathematics teacher educators in Mississippi, a group representing the major colleges and universities in Mississippi was established in 2007. This group, known as the Mississippi Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (MAMTE), is the official state-level affiliate of the national organization Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE). MAMTE’s goal is to engage mathematics educators from across the state to collaborate in ways that improve mathematics achievement among K-12 students.
MAMTE hosts an annual symposium each May to work on state-wide mathematics education initiatives and to provide professional development for our members.
