Location
The position requires an earned doctorate in Mathematics Education or closely related area by August 16, 2019. Other requirements include the ability to teach a wide range of courses focused on mathematics and mathematics education; a strong commitment to teacher education and to quality teaching; and an active research program in Mathematics Education compatible with research interests of current faculty. Teaching or research experience at the middle-school level is preferred. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
The successful candidate at the senior level will have an influential research program in Mathematics Education, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a sustained history of mentoring graduate students. At the junior level, evidence of excellence in teaching and a promising research program in Mathematics Education are required, and some experience mentoring graduate students is desired. The successful candidate at either level will be expected to maintain an active research program, to assume leadership roles, and to work collaboratively to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics in K-12 educational programs. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
